Powerfull
is a powerbank rental product launched in public venues across the UAE and Europe. There was no existing product — only a basic idea and raw sketches. I led the entire design effort: from research and product modeling to brand and UI system.
After launching in the UAE, the product was reused with minimal visual changes by partners in other markets.
Problem
The initial prototype included only a few disconnected screens with no logic or real flow. Through analysis, I identified core UX gaps:
Lack of clarity about powerbank availability and station status
No guidance inside venues (where to find the station)
Confusing or overloaded flows in similar rental apps
No persistent visibility of rental status or cost
Goal
Create a fast, clear, and context-aware rental experience that works reliably in real-world use.
Research
To define a better model, I:
Conducted a user survey with
24 participants to validate assumptions and test early flows
Analyzed 35+ apps (powerbanks, scooters, bikes) for flow patterns and UX pitfalls
Extracted best practices for onboarding, location discovery, and active rental
Built a 100+ screen wireframe prototype organized into cohesive flows, capturing core journeys and edge scenarios. This structured approach allowed efficient testing, stakeholder feedback, and reduced risk before moving to visuals.
Conducted an in-depth analysis of 35+ apps across the powerbank, scooter, and bike-sharing domains, mapping their user flow patterns and identifying recurring UX pitfalls that could inform better product decisions.
Solution
The product was built around a clear, low-friction user experience optimized for real-world conditions.
Smart station view with photo, walking distance, and description of indoor location
Live rental status showing time, cost, and auto-purchase threshold
Fast start — immediate access to station map on first open
Return flow with clear CTA and fallback messaging
The engineering team was responsible for developing hardware-level integrations for the charging stations, while I led the design process. Close collaboration allowed us to align design decisions with technical constraints and capabilities, ensuring the final product was both functional and user-friendly.
A complementary administrator panel was created to support the app: simple in structure, but informative and user-friendly, giving managers the essential tools to monitor and operate the system.
Designed two distinct landing pages: a B2C version focused on engaging users and driving adoption, and a B2B version tailored for potential partners, highlighting business opportunities and collaboration benefits.
After launching in the UAE, the product was reused with minimal visual changes by partners in other markets.
